Steps to perform POS installation on a fresh machine and restore an old backup for a Live Sync enabled POS: 1. Download the Ginesys POS setup and proceed with the installation as usual. 2. Download the "DBRestore_.zip" file from the URL "http://support.ginesys.in/downloads/current/POS/". 3. Select the correct version of DBRestore zip based on the POS version the backup taken on. 4. Extract the contents of the zip file and copy all the files from the extracted path to the installation directory of Ginesys POS. Ensure only files are copied at the same root where NPOS.exe resides. Don't copy any directory. Proceed on the confirmation window to overwrite. 4. Run DBRestore as usual. Make sure the machine is connected to a standard internet connection during this step. 5. Once the restoration is finished, run the auto-update process to download the file set corresponding to your database version. 6. Next, open the command prompt as an administrator and execute the command "sc delete GinesysPOSScheduler". 7. After the update process is completed, run the "Database Locator" as an administrator. Go to the utilities section and click on the "Promote this machine to application server" button. 8. Launch the POS application using your credentials and initiate a full backup. Upon the completion of the full backup, you can use Ginesys POS as usual.
